Starting the New Year off right: 10 micro habits that have transformed my life!

People in general love habits. The habits are what create a ritual when it comes to daily obligations and how life flows. These habits can easily create a sort of comfort zone, which many find very hard to step out of it. The changes that come and happen are a disruption of these habits. They do not always mean that they are bags. Some changes are good since they open new perspectives and horizons and takes on life, something that you might have not acknowledged thus far.

Making a change, no matter how small or big it is, can be a hard thing. Some life changes start from doing things differently. Even if it is something so cliché as changing the mug you drink your morning coffee or anything similar, one change can lead to others.

These small things that we do regularly are called micro habits. And changing these micro habits can be very beneficial to the overall well-being and lifestyle of a person. Inspired to do such changes, these are the 10 micro habits that I have introduced as my daily habits and they have transformed my life for the better. Maybe they will inspire you too to do the change that you have been wanting and needing.

  • Drink a glass of water as soon as you wake up
  • This is a great micro habit to start your journey. Hydration is very important for the proper functioning of the body. Drinking lots of water will not only make your skin look better, but it is also a great way to wake up the body.

  • Stay off electronics in the morning
  • Proper waking up is essential to the productivity of the body and mind. Besides starting to drink a glass of water in the morning, a good micro habit that will deliver a significant change is to stay off all electronic appliances and screens for the first 20-30 minutes of the day. Instead of staring at a screen, do some writing, for about 3-5 minutes.

  • Think of new self-affirmation
  • Knowing your values, where you stand, and how worthy you are are the most important things for being confident and building a life for yourself. It is important to remind yourself every day about that. A great way to do so is to think about new self-affirmation every day. Do that while you are in the shower, and use it as your mantra throughout the entire day.

  • Start your day with Dry brushing
  • Start your day with a SUPERCHARGE. Our Copper Body Brush takes dry-brushing to new heights with ion-charged bristles that wake up the body, accelerate lymphatic drainage, exfoliate skin, reduce cellulite, restore electromagnetic balance, and counteract the modern stressors of an always-online lifestyle.  This is also great to do before an infrared session.

  • Eat fruit/veggies as a meal
  • Although this might not be something that you would ever consider, it is a micro habit that will change your diet. Besides the regular meal you have, try to pay attention to the fruits or the vegetables and opt for eating the entire one per meal.

  • Remember your friends
  • We all live a busy life, with lots of obligations. But one micro habit that will transform your life is to remember your friends on a daily basis. Even something simple as a text will go a long way. Show them you care for them, even if it is just some cute emoji.

  • Reflect
  • We forget to reflect on the good things that have happened to us. And the bad too. Those are all experiences that shape our lives and we need to be grateful. The next time you are on a walk, take a moment to reflect back on it.

  • Lay on Infrared Mat and Meditate / Stretch
  • Meditation is not a trend. On the contrary, it is a great way to relax, dive deep into yourself and sync your body and mind.  We recommend laying on a HigherDose Infrared Mat for 10 minutes while meditating.  A few minutes of meditation per day will make a significant change.  Stretching in the morning should become a habit since that is very healthy and beneficial. Try to incorporate stretching every morning, as you get up. Just 2-3 minutes is more than enough. It will get your blood circulating, which boosts the overall mood.

  • Relaxing in a Digital Detox Bath
  • The average person spends around 11 hours of screen time every day.   But, what if you just gave yourself an hour with no screens, no IGTVs, no texts, no zoom calls, no scrolls. Now imagine spending that time in a hot bath, with our Digital Detox soak.  Soak for 20-30 minutes a week or every other week for pure restoration.

  • Spend time outside
  • Try to spend more time outside, in the open, in nature. It is a great way to introduce a change in your lifestyle.
